Family: My husband and I make a family of two, plus our backyard critters of course. Our parents and siblings are all in London, along with a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins & nieces scattered around southwestern Ontario.
What do you like about life in London and area? Just about anything you want is here! I especially love all the nature trails, parks and conservation areas right in the City limits. And the Thames River runs right through it! There is great shopping, from big box stores, to small independently owned businesses with charm and character, any kind of food your heart desires, and a vibrant night life with amazing local live music, international acts, and theatre. And we’re just a stones throw from the most beautiful countryside anywhere, not to mention being smack between two Great Lakes!
Favourite Restaurants: It’s possible that growing up in a diner, complete with counter stools and juke boxes (yes, literally!) has made me partial to that kind of ambiance! I love the small independent eateries with some character and comfort food. Mary’s Place for all day breakfast, Mykonos for chicken soup, Nova Era for baked goodies (you’ve got to try their rye bread!). We love to cook, so we frequent places like Alicia’s for cheese, and the markets at the Western Fair and Trails End, not only for farm fresh food, but for the entertainment value! Oh, and the fish market in Port Stanley! Mmmmm….
Hobbies: I’m a serious hobby photographer, love to cook & garden, and spend time at our cottage in the Kawarthas, doing all of the above!
Dream Vacation: Lately, I’ve been dreaming of places like Paris & Spain, and I’m really keen to take the new Great Lakes cruise, but, an easier question would be where do I NOT want to go!
Dead or alive, who would you like to have dinner with? This might be an odd answer, but, I’ve always wanted to have dinner with Dom DeLuise ~ the man can cook, AND he’s funny! Or, maybe Agatha Christie, just to see if I could figure out how her mind works….
