Family: I’m a father of 2, and a grandpa to 5 (3 of whom are teenagers)….my God….where has the time gone? I guess at this stage in life, you could say, I’m full of wisdom. I also have the Love of my life, Nikki as well as 3 incredibly demanding, albeit adorable and loving doggies in my life. I’ve travelled and lived throughout southern Ontario and now call Port Stanley home. The first day I came to visit, I fell in love with this beach community and all the amenities it has to offer, and in January 2016, settled in .
What do you like about life in London and area? I have always liked London. It’s the perfect pairing of community, arts, recreation, employment opportunities, location and weather (Not Winter Weather). The St. Thomas and Port Stanley areas offer their own unique contributions to the area and blend nicely with London providing the role as the “Big City” backyard neighbour.
Favourite. Restaurants: I Love the kitchen, I Love to cook, I Love to experiment with food. I constantly find myself comparing restaurant meals with my own cooking (and winning) and feel very confident in my culinary abilities. My favourite restaurant is “My Kitchen”, but I do love trying every chicken wing joint out in the world, as I’m a sucker for really good wings!
Hobbies: Since I love it anyways…COOKING is a hobby and anything you enjoy that’s fun has to be a hobby. I still play hockey at least twice a week down at the Port Stanley arena, and the boys in the league can really give you a workout! We have an amazing park just down the road from Fingal with miles of trails that I walk the dogs daily. The beauty of nature and spotting a bunny, squirrel, deer, or fox makes for some nice surprises. Love listening to and playing music on the keyboards, and singing, but only to my dogs or to myself in the shower.
Dream Vacation: Nikki’s after me to take a cruise as I’ve only done the tropical island and Mexico trips up to now. I think a Mediterranean cruise would be amazing. My “Bucket List” vacation is 5-6 weeks split between Australia and New Zealand.
Dead or alive, who would you like to have dinner with? Since we are talking hypothetically… (dead or alive)… I’d like to cook up a special meal for myself! The “catch” is, I’m having dinner today with me as a 17 year old. Remember the saying,” If I only knew then… I could focus on some of the hiccups and bumps in the road of life. I like the age of 17 because that’s where the hiccups and bumps started! That would be an interesting conversation…I Hope I’d Listen To Myself!
